Visions of Past, Present and Future with White Hills - An Interview

***** Interview with White Hills *****

Q. When did White Hills starts, tell us about the history...
A. History...that seems pretty irrelevant at this time. A simple search on Google will get you that information. Weather it's true or not is for you to decide. What is, is NOW. The present. The past is gone and will never be. We are people in the present. Creating and evolving in the present. That is what is important to us.

Q: Who are your influences?
A. I look at my influences as "what" rather than "who". Simply put, all that is. The universe, art, prose, the beauty in the little things in life. Existing is the biggest influence of all.

Q. Made a list of 5 albuns of all time…
A. This question is too much. Lists are rather pointless in my opinion. I will give you insight into 5 albums that I'm listening to regularly right now...but of all time...there is just too much amazing music out there to boil it all down to just 5 albums. Sorry I can't do that.

Here's what I'm getting into at the moment.

Pyrolator "Ausland"
Killing Joke "MMXII"
Wovenhand " Live At Roepaen"
Tronics "Love Backed By Force 320"
Terminal Cheesecake "King Of All Spaceheads"

Q. How do you feel playing live?
A. Great. It's what makes me feel alive.

Q. How do you describe White Hills sounds?
A. Pop music for yuppie scum.

Q: Tell us about the process of recordingthe albums
A. It's pretty simple. We go into a studio, set-up, press record and let it fly. There's no fussing or over thinking. All I'm concerned about is catching that little moment in time.

Q. Which new bands do you recommended?
A. GNOD, Mugstar, Hookworms, Thought Forms, Peaking Lights, Aqua Nebula Oscillator, Disappears, Sunflare...there are so many great bands happening right now, just take a chance and you'll find something that gets you going.

Q: Which bands you love to made a cover version?
A. None. The only cover we've ever done was "Be Yourself" by Hawkwind for a trilogy of 45's that was released by Trensmat Records. For that matter, we only ever played that song once...the time it was recorded. I don't find any use or importance in covering someone else's music. There is too much music inside of me that needs to come out. Why bother rehashing something that's already been done and done better than anyone else can do?

Q: What´s the plans for future....
A. More touring in the US and Europe before the end of the year. Getting into the studio sometime between all of the touring and start to work on a new record.

Q: Any parting words?
A. Stay out of the crazy peoples way.
