Clueless with Jindie - An Interview

***** Interview with Jindie *****

Q. When did Jindie start? Tell us about the history...
So I started back in 2014 as a high school band, and we were just doing covers and shows under the name “Jindie”. Long story short, they all left me with this idiot “Mac” and we just started making our own music.

Q: Who are your influences?
Our main influences are Mac Demarco, Summer Salt, Hyukoh and later on The Walters just grew on us.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time…
Shawcross – Good Morning
In the shower - Homeshake
20 - Hyukoh
Lo-Tide – Traithalon
Songs for Dad – Walters

Q. How do you feel playing live?
We had fun most of the time, but we always get blasted before the acoustic sessions, quite fun. We are still waiting to do a full band live.

Q. How do you describe Jindie sounds?
Imagine listening to a wavy classic rock with catchy melodies, but it’s the Laotians that are doing it, its rare I guess.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
We recorded the first EP in my bedroom with couple friends hanging around, its usually like we were just jamming on my balcony, and I came up with some chords, and mac just went in with the licks, and there we have it.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
Acid Ghost, Purley Oaks and No Vacation.

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Homeshake.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
We are making our second EP, or it could be an album depending on our moods. This time we are not cluelessly doing it anymore, we have learned a lot from recording the first, so this next one will sure be better.

Q: Any parting words?
Stay tuned.
