A Slice of Life with Neon Lights - An Interview

***** Interview with Neon Lights *****

Q. When did Neon Lights begin? Tell us about the history:
We started in 2008 but didn't release anything until 2010 with the Summer Sky EP. After all these years now we see that EP more as a trial and error collection of songs than a proper release. On the other hand, we feel prouder of our first LP, "LATE" (2013).

Q: Who are your influences?
Lots of bands, but maybe some of the more obvious in our sound could be Slowdive, Cure or Joy Division.

Q. Make a list of 5 albums of all time: difficult question but I will try:
1.The Cure: Disintegration
2.Slowdive: Souvlaki
3.Depeche Mode: Violator
4.David Bowie: Low
5.Bunnymen: Ocean Rain

This could be changed tomorrow!!

Q. How do you feel playing live?
It seems weird sometimes.

Q. How do you describe Neon Lights sounds?
Atmospheric, nostalgic.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs?
We usually do demos at home, I mean, individual demos, we don't jam or anything like that. After that we practise them at the rehearsing room and when we have enough for an album or EP, we go to the studio and record them. Pretty straighforward way of doing it, I am afraid.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
For sure our brothers here in our home town: The Lawyers, Consejo and Noise Box (not exactly new this last one but amazing anyway)

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
Sometimes we did "Under the Milky Way" by The Church and "Just Like Honey" by The Jesus and Mary Chain during the last tour. I am happy with those two!

Q: What are your plans for the future?
Try to promote our new album, A Slice of Life, as much as possible.

Q: Any parting words?
Thanks.
